Target Haul!

Hello lovelies!

I recently made a trip to Target to pick up some essentials and, of course, participating in some impulse buys. (Target is my downfall when it comes to unnecessary purchases.)

Anyways let's get on with it!

Right to Left: Olay Daily Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin, Soft Lips in Watermelon, Raspberry, and Jack Frosting, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stains in "Charm," and O.P.I. nail polish in "Kiss Me On My Tulips."

I've already done a review on the Olay moisturizer and will be doing one on the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain in the near future...promise!

The main reason I dropped by Target was to pick up the Soft Lips Chapstick. I fell in love with this line of chapsticks about 3 or 4 years ago. They glide on smoothly, smell fantastic, contain SPF 20, and moisturize your lips!

I usually buy mine from Publix (my local grocery store) but the only selection they have is limited to Vanilla..which to me, vanilla is boring. On the Soft Lips website they advertised their products were available in Target Stores, hence why I travelled there.

I have yet to try the Jack Frosting but I'm guessing it's similar to a buttercream scent, similar to what you would find on cakes and such. I have, however, tried the Watermelon and Raspberry flavors and they are AMAZING.

The scents are so similar to what the actual fruit smells like and does not smell like chemicals at all. The best thing is, is that these chapsticks don't have any taste. I do like products that taste great, but the problem I have is when the chapstick or lip gloss tastes good, I end up licking it off my lips which further dries them out.

These chapsticks are not sticky, and feel light weight.  They are also small enough to stash in a small clutch and have a rotating bottom which allows for replenishment. They're around $2.99 - $3.99 USD depending where you purchase them.

I also purchased one of my first O.P.I. nail polishes, "Kiss Me On My Tulips". I am usually more of an Essie fan because I haven't had that much luck with O.P.I. nail polishes and I like the Essie packaging more.

I tried this color because I am addicted to pink, pink based reds, pink based oranges, and coral nail polish colors due to the fact they compliment my skin tone more (I have an olive/golden skin tone). This color is pretty true in both indoor and outdoor lighting.

I really liked this color because it was VERY opaque and I found myself needing only one coat to cover the entire nail. Well, that's where my love affair ended with this nail polish.

From past experiences I have learned to always apply a base coat when using dark colored polish to prevent staining of the nail underneath, and so in this instance, I did. I use the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails clear polish as a base and a top coat. I do this routine with all my nail polish colors and most stay on for a a good amount of time (5-6 days).

However, this nail polish only lasted around 2 days before slightly chipped at the top of the nail. I use my hands a lot at work because I work in retail so that might speed up the chipping process but the nail polish I had on before lasted almost three times as long before it started chipping...and it was a less expensive nail polish!

I guess when considering chipping speed, there are many factors: how much you use your hands, how many coats you apply, the color, and the formulation of the nail polish.

I do still enjoy this color and have received numerous compliments on it. I will still be using it, but I might just leave it as a pedicure color for the summer and spring time.

Do you have any nail polish colors or chapstick brands you're in love with?

Leave a comment and have a fabulous day!
