Olay Daily Moisturizer Review

Hey beauties!

I recently made a trip to Target to pick up some facial moisturizer. My face has been really dry recently because of the weather transition from summer to fall/winter.

In Florida our summer months are very humid and muggy meaning there is more moisture in the air. I rarely use moisturizer during the summer because of the extra moisture (although I should.) However, I don't know if it's because I'm getting older or there is something different about the weather by my skin is EXTREMELY dry.

My face is just gross and you can tell I have really dry skin when I'm wearing makeup. It might be the makeup I'm using, I use Loreal Paris, but there isn't any "anti-pimple" magic in there which is the leading cause of my facial dryness most of the time so I'm stuck in a pickle.

Anyways, because of Thanksgiving here in America I got to see my cousin who is my age, 20, and she said she used the Olay Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 and that she loves it. Hence, my trip to Target.

I'm really picky about moisturizer because I have the type of skin that ranges between oily-normal-dry depending on the product I use.

I can't have moisturizers that feel heavy and take a long time to soak in because my skin becomes oily and it feels like I have a pound of makeup on. I also can't have moisturizers that apply like a dream but only moisturize for 20 minutes because I'll have to keep reapplying.

That said, I am VERY pleased with this moisturizer. This is the first Olay product I've used because I thought Olay was only made for older women due to their plethora of anti-aging products. I was wrong obviously and I'm happy I was.

The moisturizer is AMAZING because it feel so light weight yet it moisturizes AND it contains SPF 15 which I find is the lowest for most makeup but still nice protection. I also chose the sensitive skin because I tend to be allergic to the most random beauty products so it's always better to be safe than sorry in my book.

The only thing I don't like about this moisturizer is that it doesn't come with a pump, but rather a..hole? A squeezy hole? I have no idea how you would identify this but that's why I put up a picture!

I like my moisturizer to have pumps because I'm weird, but I feel like when you don't have a pump you can get the most out of your product because you can almost empty the bottle. Whereas, with a pump, you're limited to the product that the straw-thingy can reach which sometimes isn't a lot.
Did that make any sense? Ugh.

Anyways, I do HIGHLY recommend this product if you are like me and like a light-weight moisturizer that still gets the job done. I think this was around $15.00 USD for a 4 oz bottle. They have bigger bottles but I didn't want to purchase a large bottle if the product was crappy.

Anyways, have a fabulous day!

I'm guessing that if you read the title you already know what this blog post is about!

I've been luckily nominated for the "Versatile Blogger/Liebster Award" by Katy at "the rawrdrobe", Josie at "If Ever I Stray"and Samantha at "Beauty And The Believer".

First I want to say thank you to these beautiful ladies for nominating me (and sorry it's taken me so long to do this!) and second I want to thank you readers for actually READING this post. :)

Let's do this.

1. the drink you order at starbucks?
Right now it’s the grande iced skinny peppermint mocha with an extra shot of espresso. Geez that sounds like a foreign language

2. did you have any nicknames when you were younger?
I had a TON. I think my favorite was Kelly Bell because my parents used to tie bells on my shoes…like a cat. Hahaha!

Today I learned that you have to be patient with people no matter what situation you’re in.

4. What country/place would you most like to visit?
Easy. Venice, Italy!

I love that they understand me and know when I’m happy or upset and they know how to handle me at my worst.

6. What do you love most about your friends?
I love that we can look at each other and instantly know what each and everyone of us is thinking.

Right now probably Forever 21 and American Eagle

9. What is you favorite makeup brand?
Urban Decay!

Probably eyebrow waxing/plucking! Having a uni-brow isn’t cute!

Nerdy Monday - OOTD

'Ello loves!

This weekend I made a spectacular purchase. I got a pair of...hipster/nerd glasses!

I realize that these accessories might not be "in" anymore but I'm still in love with them and have rocked them every day since I got them (I've had them since Friday!).

Hipster/nerd glasses I believe are a "love them or hate them" fashion piece. I've had numerous compliments as well as a generous amount of backlash for wearing them. Some people think that since they aren't prescription, the glasses are a waste of money and make you look silly. Others have asked where I purchased them (Claire's or their off-branch, Icing, carries them and this is where I purchased mine for $12 USD) and say that they complete any outfit.

I have noticed myself wandering into the more "hipster" fashion style so therefore these were an essential purchase. The glasses are a sort of cherry on top, and add a finished look to an outfit.

I wore mine to class today and since it was a bit chilly outside, I paired them with black knit jeggings from American Eagle, a plaid shirt (which I had from an ex-boyfriend) which was very loose fitting, a pair of short brown uggs, and a scarf from Target.

Be A Budget Shopper!

Hello loves!

Obviously if you read the title of this handy dandy blog post you'll know I'm going to be talking about budget shopping!

Now budget shopping can be finding great deals, shopping sales racks, going thrifting, or even plundering yard sales.

Budget shopping is VERY important to me since I am a starving college student with a limited income (I have a part time job AND go to school). I've learned from a very young age never to pay full price for an item.

I was recently browsing on Pinterest and came across these adorable jeans from Anthropologie and was all set on buying them until I found out they were $178.00 USD.

WHAT?! Um...no. Simply stated I did not order them. I knew I could find them somewhere else.

So. The other day I was at target picking up some new liquid foundation and I always make time to meander through the clothing section.

I love shopping at Target because you can find every day essentials (i.e. sweaters, plain shirts, layering tanks, t-shirts) and they're all pretty affordable.

Anyways. I was just strolling and I found a pretty much identical pair of polka dot jeans for $23.00 USD. Needless to say, I got them.

Anthropologie Jeans $178 USD
Target Jeans $23 USD

The only real difference between the jeans is that the jeans from Target have white dots on a grey background and the Anthropologie jeans have the dots on a navy/blue background.

I don't really care what background the dots are on. I knew that I HAD to get them so I did.

The luckiest finds are the ones you happen upon so check budget stores often.

What are your favorite budget stores to shop in?  Leave a reply and have a fabulous day!
