Target Haul!

Hello lovelies!

I recently made a trip to Target to pick up some essentials and, of course, participating in some impulse buys. (Target is my downfall when it comes to unnecessary purchases.)

Anyways let's get on with it!

Right to Left: Olay Daily Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin, Soft Lips in Watermelon, Raspberry, and Jack Frosting, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stains in "Charm," and O.P.I. nail polish in "Kiss Me On My Tulips."

I've already done a review on the Olay moisturizer and will be doing one on the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain in the near future...promise!

The main reason I dropped by Target was to pick up the Soft Lips Chapstick. I fell in love with this line of chapsticks about 3 or 4 years ago. They glide on smoothly, smell fantastic, contain SPF 20, and moisturize your lips!

I usually buy mine from Publix (my local grocery store) but the only selection they have is limited to Vanilla..which to me, vanilla is boring. On the Soft Lips website they advertised their products were available in Target Stores, hence why I travelled there.

I have yet to try the Jack Frosting but I'm guessing it's similar to a buttercream scent, similar to what you would find on cakes and such. I have, however, tried the Watermelon and Raspberry flavors and they are AMAZING.

The scents are so similar to what the actual fruit smells like and does not smell like chemicals at all. The best thing is, is that these chapsticks don't have any taste. I do like products that taste great, but the problem I have is when the chapstick or lip gloss tastes good, I end up licking it off my lips which further dries them out.

These chapsticks are not sticky, and feel light weight.  They are also small enough to stash in a small clutch and have a rotating bottom which allows for replenishment. They're around $2.99 - $3.99 USD depending where you purchase them.

I also purchased one of my first O.P.I. nail polishes, "Kiss Me On My Tulips". I am usually more of an Essie fan because I haven't had that much luck with O.P.I. nail polishes and I like the Essie packaging more.

I tried this color because I am addicted to pink, pink based reds, pink based oranges, and coral nail polish colors due to the fact they compliment my skin tone more (I have an olive/golden skin tone). This color is pretty true in both indoor and outdoor lighting.

I really liked this color because it was VERY opaque and I found myself needing only one coat to cover the entire nail. Well, that's where my love affair ended with this nail polish.

From past experiences I have learned to always apply a base coat when using dark colored polish to prevent staining of the nail underneath, and so in this instance, I did. I use the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails clear polish as a base and a top coat. I do this routine with all my nail polish colors and most stay on for a a good amount of time (5-6 days).

However, this nail polish only lasted around 2 days before slightly chipped at the top of the nail. I use my hands a lot at work because I work in retail so that might speed up the chipping process but the nail polish I had on before lasted almost three times as long before it started chipping...and it was a less expensive nail polish!

I guess when considering chipping speed, there are many factors: how much you use your hands, how many coats you apply, the color, and the formulation of the nail polish.

I do still enjoy this color and have received numerous compliments on it. I will still be using it, but I might just leave it as a pedicure color for the summer and spring time.

Do you have any nail polish colors or chapstick brands you're in love with?

Leave a comment and have a fabulous day!

Be A Budget Shopper!

Hello loves!

Obviously if you read the title of this handy dandy blog post you'll know I'm going to be talking about budget shopping!

Now budget shopping can be finding great deals, shopping sales racks, going thrifting, or even plundering yard sales.

Budget shopping is VERY important to me since I am a starving college student with a limited income (I have a part time job AND go to school). I've learned from a very young age never to pay full price for an item.

I was recently browsing on Pinterest and came across these adorable jeans from Anthropologie and was all set on buying them until I found out they were $178.00 USD.

WHAT?! Um...no. Simply stated I did not order them. I knew I could find them somewhere else.

So. The other day I was at target picking up some new liquid foundation and I always make time to meander through the clothing section.

I love shopping at Target because you can find every day essentials (i.e. sweaters, plain shirts, layering tanks, t-shirts) and they're all pretty affordable.

Anyways. I was just strolling and I found a pretty much identical pair of polka dot jeans for $23.00 USD. Needless to say, I got them.

Anthropologie Jeans $178 USD
Target Jeans $23 USD

The only real difference between the jeans is that the jeans from Target have white dots on a grey background and the Anthropologie jeans have the dots on a navy/blue background.

I don't really care what background the dots are on. I knew that I HAD to get them so I did.

The luckiest finds are the ones you happen upon so check budget stores often.

What are your favorite budget stores to shop in?  Leave a reply and have a fabulous day!

Weather vs. Fashion

Hello loves!

I'm quickly writing this before getting ready for class but I decided I HAVE to share this website with you.

I am constantly checking my weather channel app or the actual "Weather Channel" website to find out what the temperature is outside and what it is going to be like whenever I am done with class, work, or shopping at the grocery store.

Well...the weather channel app lies. Not all the time, but sometimes. I've found myself walking outside with a sweater and a long sleeve shirt only to be welcomed by 85 degree weather.
Not pleasant.

If you're anything like me, and like to dress according to the weather check this site out. I found it a couple of weeks ago and have been meaning to blog about it!

Daily Dress Me

I took a screen shot so sorry for the terrible quality. You can go to the website and type in your own city or zip code and it gives you accurate information about the weather, a little description, and an out fit example for every day of the week. These are the outfits chosen for the area I live in.

All of the outfits come from Forever 21 but you can always tweak them to match your own personal style.

I don't know if it works for other countries besides the U.S. but check it out and see! It's definitely a life saver.

That's all for now loves. I have to go start getting ready for class or I'll be late...again. Have a fabulous day!

By the way, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Do you pay attention to the weather when you get dressed or do you just pick out an outfit?

Coral & Leopard = LOVE

Hello lovelies!
I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while, butttt, I have exciting blog posts coming up in the future!

I cleaned out my closet and spent TWO hours at Forever 21 which consistently fuels my addiction to fashion.

Back to the news, I got these new coral high waisted shorts which I ABSOLUTELY adore.

I paired these shorts with a black and grey leopard top, which I also got from Forever 21.

Now some of you in the United States are probably asking why I bought these at the beginning of winter. In Florida it never really gets THAT cold and I think the shorts will look adorable with black tights or leggings underneath and black wedges...it'll be cute. I know.

I also got this necklace which is adorable. I never really wear silver but the only other one they had was black so I picked up this one. I still think it's a cute statement necklace which will match a lot of my outfits.

Do you have anything you're definitely transferring from summer over to fall? Leave a response!

Have a fabulous day!
